The Mikram heater is the only nozzle heat source that is sealed to prevent external contamination, capable of operating unclamped in temperatures of over 700 deg (1300 deg F), and tolerant of plastic build-up from leaky nozzles. The Mikram design criteria were centred on the renowned problem of heating confined spaces with a minimum maintenance requirement. Its excellent track record has proved it to be the ultimate solution.

Extensive Life:

The Mikram heaters working life is, on average, around five times as long as any other heater of similar proportions @ cutting machine downtime and running costs.
Standard cable lengths are 24" (63.5 cm), but extended lead wires can be provided.Three standard styles of clamping arrangements are available or the heater can be supplied with loose bands.

Thermocouples:

LPC can provide internal or external (removable) thermocouples for close tolerance nozzle control. This means that clamp-on or ring-type thermocouples can be dispensed with, giving the heater much more space.

Construction:

The patented triple helix element is embedded in a magnesium compound and cased in steel or stainless steel. The connections are sheathed in copper tube to enable individual forming to machine contours. A minimum length on "¾" (20 mm) of tube is needed to provide cable seals - except for style W, where termination is made inside the heater.

Testing:

All heaters are tested to British Standards 1500v minimum Flash Test. Mikram Heaters are all factory tested to 400 deg C and current leakage held at less than .001 amps.
